On track in NACAC! JR. Representatives “Jaminate” championship!
Jamaica’s fears of no worthy successors to the sprinting throne were seemingly allayed with a stellar performance from Jamaica’s outstanding teen sensation Briana William’s claiming the u18 women’s 100m in a paltry 11.11 seconds by her own lofty standards. The men’s u23 100m was claimed by Purdue and former Jamaica College standout Waseem Williams who bounced back from his disappointing showing at national championships to claim gold in a time of 10.00 seconds. Mario Burke of Barbados finished in 3rd with 10.01 seconds, while Jamaica’s other representative, former St. Jago and class 2 100m record holder Raheem Chambers finished in 4th with 10.13 seconds.
Jamaica’s gold rush continued with Gold in the men’s u18 triple jump. Turner leapt to a distance of 14.52m to claim his place atop the podium. In the men’s u18 200m, rising star Rajay Morris claimed the gold in a championship record of 20.82 seconds. The lanky sprinter produced a commanding performance with 2nd place going to
Darian Clarke of Barbados in 21.18 seconds and Jamaica’s other representative Raheim Scott finishing in 5th with 21.36.
